Jiangsu Electric Power Company (State Grid JiangSu Electric Power Co., Ltd) is the largest subsidiary of State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC). The company mainly engages in construction & management of power grids and electricity sales in Jiangsu province. The company has totally 80,000 employees and serves about 80 million population. The power grid of the company includes more than 3,000 substations (above 35kV), and transmission lines a total length of 87,000 km. The electric power load peak demand of Jiangsu exceeded 120 GW from from 2021.

Suzhou power company is the largest branch, which is about 1/4 of the scale of Jiangsu Company. Most largest projects are established in Suzhou, Such as 500 kV UPFC (Unified Power Flow Controller), AC 1000 kV Substation, AC 1000 kV GIL project, DC ±800 kV convertor stations. Some of them are world’s largest.

The company is mainly engaged in the construction and management of power grids in Jiangsu, and the sales of electricity in Jiangsu. It has 13 cities, 53 counties (cities) power supply branches and 14 scientific research, maintenance, construction and other units, with more than 77,000 employees and services 43.98 million power customers, with total assets of 310.5 billion yuan. It has 3,240 substations of 35 kV and above, and 102,300 kilometers of transmission lines. With the completion of construction of ±800 kV Jinsu, Yanhuai, Xitai UHV DC and 1,000 kV Huainan-Shanghai UHV AC projects, A strong smart grid has been formed with the backbone network of “one-transition and three-direction” UHV hybrid power grid and the coordinated development of power grid at all levels.
